Tips to reset e-filing password by yzene

I am careless and forgetful. So you can follow my every post if you want to resolve the issues that most people will encounter. It is a big month for our LHDN this April. People tend to forget their passwords for this once in a year event. There are 2 methods to reset the password (it could be more than that, let me know if you use other method, LHDN is pretty flexible)

1) Standard answer from e_filing@hasil.gov.my
Fax to 03-42894053 the following documents/information;

A. Copy of your identification card (MyKad) for both sides (For Malaysian only) and passport (for Non-Malaysian residents only).
B. Contact number
C. Current mailing address
D. Tax reference number (e.g. OG or SG 123456789-0(1) )
E. Kindly indicate subject "Reset E-filing password"

You'll be contacted once we have reset your password.

2) My method
Go to the nearest LHDN branch then give the officer your password and ask to reset your password. That is it!
If you are a “Sotong” like me forgetting to bring IC, no worries, the friendly officer will help you as long as you remember your IC number.

Lesson learned: Nobody cares about your E-filing passwords unless you are detestable, people tend to sabotage you. So, record your passwords properly, don’t waste time.
